Ludhiana: 4 arrested including 2 shooters in the case of demanding extortion of Rs 5 crore

Punjab: Ludhiana rural police claimed to have arrested the accused including two shooters who opened fire at the house of US-based NRI Jagmohan Singh alias Goldy in Pandori village near Dakha in the wee hours of July 29. Rajasthan gangster Hari Boxer, who is said to be hiding abroad, had allegedly sent his shooters to threaten the NRI and demanded Rs 5 crore from him. Hari is said to be an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and was allegedly making extortion calls to NRIs and businessmen from Punjab at the behest of fugitive gangster Anmol Bishnoi. NRI Jagmohan Singh was in the US when the firing took place at his house in the wee hours of July 29, sources said. His wife Amandeep Kaur, children and mother-in-law were at home but were not injured in the incident.
According to police sources, a few hours after the firing, gangster Hari Boxer called the NRI and demanded Rs 5 crore extortion money from him. The gangster told the NRI that he was a close associate of fugitive gangster Anmol Bishnoi and if the extortion money was not paid, they would get him killed. Following the incident, the NRI’s wife lodged a police complaint. The arrested accused have been identified as Jaswinder Singh alias Ambersaria, resident of Tarn Taran, Gaurav Nirwal alias Gaurav Dadupuria, resident of Sirsa, Haryana, Kamaljit Singh alias Gandhi, resident of Sirsa, Haryana and Narinder Singh alias Ninda, resident of Dhat village, Dakha, Ludhiana. Gaurav and Kamaljit had fired at the house. The shooters had come from Haryana and carried out the incident in Pandori village.
Narinder, a resident of Dhat village, had conducted a recce for the shooters.
The complainant Amandeep Kaur, wife of the NRI, told the police that her mother had a habit of waking up early in the morning. Even on the day of the incident, she woke up at 3 am and started praying. As she went to the kitchen to make tea, she suddenly heard gunshots. When he looked through the kitchen window, some masked motorcycle riders were firing at the house. The incident was captured in the CCTV camera installed in the house. Recently, Hari Boxer had also demanded extortion of Rs 10 crore from a businessman of Tarn Taran.
