Loot attempt foiled, dreaded looters’ gang from Madhya Pradesh nabbed by Ganjam Police

Ganjam: Ganjam Police foiled a big loot attempt and arrested the looters yesterday night. Police chased and nabbed them while they were attempting a loot at a jewelry shop of Ganjam town in Chhatrapur area of Ganjam district.

As per reports, after receiving information about a loot attempt from Shraddha Jewellers in Ganjam town, police rushed to the spot. After seeing police the looters were fleeing from the scene when Ganjam police chased and nabbed them. Four of the looters were arrested while the others managed to flee.

Following their interrogation, it was learnt that the looters were from Madhya Pradesh.

Police had received information that the looters were looting on the pretext of selling balloons during various festivals.

A case 142/25 has been registered in this connection. As many as 8 gold rings, 7 mobile phones, 2 silver necklaces, 2 gold ear rings, 3 silver rings, 2 brass glasses, 3 screwdrivers and a saw were seized from the possession of the looters.

Further investigation of the case is underway.
