Bengaluru: The accused of murdering a 24-year-old girl from Bihar inside a hostel in Koramangala, Bengaluru, was arrested from Madhya Pradesh on Saturday. The accused has been identified as Abhishek who brutally murdered Kriti Kumari on the night of July 23 and then fled to Madhya Pradesh.

The accused will be questioned in Bengaluru to find out the reason behind the murder. The 24-year-old girl, who worked in a private company, was a colleague of the attacker’s girlfriend. Police said that the accused entered the PG hostel in VR Layout at 11.30 pm on Tuesday night and slit Kriti’s throat with a knife in her room on the third floor. The woman died on the spot.

The incident took place at Bhargavi Staying Homes for Ladies in Venkatreddy Layout, which is just a kilometre away from the South East Deputy Commissioner of Police office and Koramangala police station.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the killer is someone known to the victim. Police have also blamed the negligence of the PG hostel owner for the incident. Police said that the girl, originally from Bihar, has been identified as 24-year-old Kriti Kumari. She worked in a private company in Bengaluru.
