Late night encounter in Bijapur, DRG and CRPF soldiers gave a befitting reply to Naxalites

Bijapur. There was an encounter between police and Naxalites in the district late on Monday night. On receiving information about the presence of hardcore Naxalites, the soldiers had gone out on a search. Then the Naxalites started firing bullets at the soldiers. However, after retaliation the Naxalites escaped from the spot.

The matter is of Gangalur police station area. According to the information, Bijapur Police had received information from the informer that about 20 to 25 armed Maoists of Gangalur Area Committee are present in the Savanna forest of Palanar-Savanar.

On the basis of which a joint team of DRG, Bastar Fighters, Cobra Battalion and CRPF personnel was dispatched. There was a fierce encounter between both sides for about 20 to 25 minutes. Seeing the soldiers being overwhelmed, the Naxalites took advantage of the darkness and dense forest and escaped from the spot. Police officers say that soldiers are present in the area since night.

After the encounter stopped, a search operation is also being conducted in the area. All the soldiers are safe. How much loss has been caused to the Naxalites, more information will be available only when these soldiers return.
