Landmine blast kills 2, injures 5 others

Islamabad: At least two people were killed and five others injured in a roadside landmine blast in Pakistan’s central Kurram region, ARY News reported. According to details, the blast took place on Korham Road. Four of the injured are in critical condition. According to 1122 rescue officials, the bodies and injured people were rushed to a nearby hospital.

Earlier, at least two people, including a police constable, were injured in a blast in Tehsil Kulachi of Dera Ismail Khan. ARY News reported that the blast occurred on the road when the DSP and other policemen were on their way for polio duty. According to police officials, the driver and a constable of the elite forces were injured in the blast, while the bomb disposal squad reached the spot and reviewed the situation, ARY News reported.

Earlier this incident, at least one person was killed and 20 others were injured in twin landmine blasts near Thaikedar Nadd in Balochistan’s Duki district. The first blast occurred when a truck hit a landmine, followed by a second explosion when people rushed to the spot. Police officials said one person was killed while 17 others were injured in the twin landmine blasts. The injured were being rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. (ANI)
