Kotdwar: A smuggler arrested with 10 grams of illegal smack
In the ongoing campaign by Uttarakhand Chief Minister to make Uttarakhand drug-free (“Drugs Free Devbhoomi”) by the year 2025, Senior Superintendent of Police Paudi Garhwal, Shweta Choubey effectively curbed the growing trend of intoxication, narcotics and drugs in the district. It has been directed to take legal action by running a checking campaign against those who are engaged and buy and sell drugs illegally.
In order to which the Kotdwar police team, during the checking under the police station area on 08.04.2023, seized 10 grams illegal from the possession of drug smuggler accused Md. Farooq (age 19 years) son of Sharif Zameen, resident of Lakdi Padav Stadium School No. 0-03 Jhulabasti, Kotdwar Pauri Garhwal. Smack was recovered and a charge under NDPS Act was registered against the accused at Police Station Kotdwar.
Senior Superintendent of Police Pauri’s appeal to the public:-
If any person receives any information related to drug addiction that any person is involved in drug activities or someone is intoxicating in any public place, then inform him on mobile number 0-7060470047. The name of the informer will be kept secret.
