Kolar News: Muniyappa hints at sabotage
KOLAR: Food and civil supplies minister KH Muniyappa on Wednesday said the Congress should punish those responsible for the party candidate’s defeat in Kolar, a seat he has been a seven-time MP from. Congress’ KKV Gowtham lost to JD(S)’s Mallesh Babu. Gowtham was the consensus candidate after a tussle between Muniyappa and his rival faction within the Congress. Muniyappa wanted a ticket for his son-in-law, which his rivals were opposing.
“Those who took responsibility for the victory, those who opposed giving ticket to my family member, should answer,” Muniyappa said. “As a loyal party soldier, I participated in the campaign. There was no sabotage from my side. Everyone knows who is responsible for the defeat. The party should punish those people,” he said.
