KISS partners with Capgemini to launch Digital Academy at KISS-DU

Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) has collaborated with Capgemini to establish a Digital Academy to impart the indigenous students market-aligned training in tech, fintech courses and prepare them for the competitive job market.

Over 100 students attended the launch ceremony today, including those in the inaugural data analytics training batch. With this initiative, Capgemini seeks to close the digital gap and empower underprivileged communities.

Sanjay Chalke, Chief Operating Officer, India, Capgemini said, “At Capgemini in India, we recognize the transformative potential of digital inclusion. The launch of Capgemini-Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences Digital Academy in Bhubaneswar underscores our commitment to empowering underserved youth, especially from indigenous communities, with the skills needed to excel in today’s job market. The academy will provide a platform for young individuals to gain practical experience and develop essential digital skills, which are crucial for their professional growth.

Prof. Debashis Bandyopadhyay, VC, KISS-DU, outlined the academy’s objectives in preparing tribal youth to be industry-ready. He emphasized the long-standing commitment of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT, KISS & KIMS, to tribal empowerment through education and skill development.

Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU, in his presidential address, inspired the students and appreciated the initiative’s role in enhancing employability. He extended gratitude to the Capgemini team on behalf of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT, KISS & KIMS.

Puneet Kumra, Vice President, Talent Acquisition, India, Capgemini, spoke about digitization and employability, emphasizing the promising career opportunities awaiting students upon completing the academy’s training programs.

Kumar Anurag Pratap, Vice President and CSR Head, India, Capgemini, motivated the students to leverage the academy for skill development and employability. He further discussed Capgemini’s community and CSR initiatives that align with fostering growth and inclusion.

Prof. Kumar Mohanty, Director, KIIT School of Management and Director, Industry Engagement and Faculty Development, KIIT, reflected on KIIT-KISS’s industry collaborations that aim to make students employable and ready to contribute effectively in the workplace.

Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, Registrar, KISS-DU, expressed heartfelt thanks to all attendees and elaborated on how the initiative aligns perfectly with KISS’s mission and vision. He underscored the impactful work of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, whose vision continues to guide KISS’s endeavours.
