Killed father and told police it was a road accident, Kalyugi son arrested
Surajpur. Over a minor dispute, the son attacked his father with a crowbar in Pahargaon village under Jaynagar police station in Surajpur district. The injured was admitted to Ambikapur Medical College Hospital after suffering serious head injury. After being referred, the injured person died on the way to Raipur. The son had told that his father was injured in a road accident. The matter came to light during police interrogation and the police arrested the son. According to the information, Rajendra Singh (60), resident of Pahargaon, died in Lakhanpur while being taken to Raipur for treatment. The family members had informed the police that Rajendra Singh was injured in a road accident. Jaynagar police station received the diary from Lakhanpur police station on Monday. Jaynagar police reached Pahargaon for investigation. When the police reached Pahargaon to investigate the case, interrogated the family members, they came to know that on the night of April 4, the deceased Rajendra Singh had a dispute with his middle son Manoj Singh (23).
The police took Manoj Singh into custody and interrogated him minutely. He told that there was a dispute between the two regarding Rajendra Singh selling the bull without asking at 7-8 pm on the night of the incident. Angered by the dispute, Manoj Singh hit his father on the head with an iron rod. Injured Rajendra Singh was taken to Ambikapur Medical College Hospital for treatment, where he was informed that he was injured in a road accident. When Rajendra Singh was taken to Raipur by ambulance on referral by the doctor, his condition deteriorated near Lakhanpur and he was taken to Lakhanpur Hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead. There also the family members had informed about the road accident. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime of making a false report and murdering his father. The police registered a crime against the accused under sections 302, 201, 506 and presented the accused in the court, from where he was sent to jail. The team of police station incharge Jaynagar probationary DSP Snigdha Salame, ASI Praveen Rathore, head constable Rajinder Ekka, Mahendra Singh, Santosh Verma remained active in the action.
