KIIT Univ incident: 2 Nepal Embassy officials meet Odisha CM, express satisfaction over govt’s action

Bhubaneswar: Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday spoke to Nepal’s Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba over phone at Lok Seva Bhavan, in Bhubaneswar regarding the KIIT incident. During the conversation he assured that strict action will be taken against all the guilty persons involved in the incident.
The Chief Minister said that the students of Nepal are also our children. They will study here with full respect. The state government is closely monitoring the incident and taking steps to restore the trust and self-confidence of the students, he said.
Later, Nepal Embassy officials Naveen Raj Nirukh and Sanjiv Sharma Das also met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhavan, Bhubaneswar and discussed the matter.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister informed the officials that 10 people have been arrested in this incident. Strict action will be taken against all those involved in this incident. All arrangements have been made by the government to restore the atmosphere of education in the KIIT campus.
The Nepalese officials said that the state government has taken prompt steps in this incident. Due to this, the students coming from Nepal and their parents have felt reassured. For this, they thanked the Odisha government, especially the Chief Minister, on behalf of the Nepal government. They said that Nepal and Odisha have a very old relationship and they expressed hope that this good relationship will never be disturbed.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Nikunja Bihari Dhal were present during the meeting.
