Kidnapping incident in Surguja, criminals were demanding 5 crore ransom, one arrested

Surguja. On June 25, some people kidnapped a youth from Laxmipur in the city on the pretext of showing him some land. The accused tied his hands and feet at gunpoint and started demanding a ransom of Rs 5 crore. Gandhinagar police rescued the kidnapped youth safely and arrested an accused Bahadur Jaiswal.
According to the information, the accused called Shankar Ravi, a youth in Gandhinagar police station area, on the pretext of getting him some land. During this, the accused tied Shankar Ravi’s hands and feet at gunpoint and kidnapped him and took him some distance away in a car, where 4-5 other accused also joined them. They first demanded Rs 5 crore from Shankar Ravi, then immediately asked for Rs 10 lakh, 10 cheques of Rs 50 lakh each and asked him to sign on blank stamp papers.
The police investigating the case traced the mobile location and reached the accused. During the raid, one accused was arrested by the police, while others managed to escape. The youth Shankar Ravi was rescued from the clutches of the kidnappers. At present, the police is searching for other accused.
