Khanna: Pastor arrested for allegedly holding a girl captive for three weeks.

Punjab: Khanna police have launched an investigation into an incident in which a “pastor” is alleged to have illegally detained a 21-year-old girl from the Kartar Nagar area for more than three weeks at an undisclosed location. The main accused, identified as Chaman Lal Masih, was arrested on Thursday night after the girl was rescued by social activists led by Nihang Singh of Tarnadal. Khanna DSP Vinod Kumar said that an investigation has been launched to ascertain the sequence of events related to the alleged illegal detention and harassment of the girl from a Christian family led by Sat Pal Masih of Kartar Nagar.
He said that the pastor was arrested after an FIR was registered against him based on Sat Pal’s statement. Sat Pal alleged that Chaman Lal took his daughter to an unknown location in Machhiwara on January 7 on the pretext of attending a religious gathering and kept her in illegal confinement for nearly three weeks. Although the victim’s family was trying to use their influence to get their daughter released, nothing concrete materialized until Thursday when she was rescued by social activists led by Nihang Paramjit Singh Khalsa of Tarnadal, reportedly after using some force. A video related to the allegations made by the victim’s family and the claims and warnings issued by the Nihang leader was circulating on social media on Thursday evening, following which Khanna police clarified that an investigation into the sequence of events related to the girl’s illegal detention has been initiated.
