Khalistani attack on Hindu temple: Canadian embassy in Mumbai protests
Maharashtra: Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal held a protest outside the Canadian embassy in Mumbai’s Prabhadevi condemning the attack on Hindus in Canada. Hindu activists demanded the Canadian government to take strict action against Khalistani elements and ensure security to Hindu communities. On Wednesday, Hindu organisation Vishwa Hindu Parishad and its youth wing Bajrang Dal held a protest outside the Canadian embassy condemning the recent attacks on Hindus in Canada. These incidents include an attack on a Hindu temple near Toronto and an attack on a consular camp in Brampton. The protesters gathered outside One International Centre in Prabhadevi, where the office of the Canadian Consulate General in Mumbai is located.
VHP Mumbai spokesperson and joint secretary Sriraj Nair said the Hindu community has contributed positively to Canada’s economy while the crime rate among the Hindu community is very low. Hindus and Sikhs have always been united, but some Khalistani elements supported by anti-India forces like ISIS are conspiring against Hindus. They have been brainwashed to hurt the Hindu community and the recent attack on a Hindu temple, where people were praying on Diwali, is unacceptable. We have no objection against the Canadian government as Canada and India have always maintained friendly relations. We urge the Canadian government and administration to stop such incidents immediately. The police, who are unable to stop this violence, should take immediate action against the culprits, said Sriraj Nair.
