Palakkad: A 77-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl who was sleeping on the road with her parents, migrant workers, in this northern district of Kerala, police said on Wednesday. The incident was reported from Nadupunni area under Kozhinjambara police commissionerate limits. He said that the incident took place this morning and the accused was caught soon after the crime. A police officer said the accused was a migrant worker from neighboring Tamil Nadu, but did not provide further details. “The girl was sleeping with her parents at a roadside spot. The incident came to light when the parents heard the girl’s screams. They found the girl with the accused a few meters away from the spot,” the officer said. ” With the help of local people, the fathers caught the accused and handed him over to the police. He will lodge an FIR and will be arrested soon.
