Thiruvananthapuram: The Minister Principal of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, on Thursday attacked the Narendra Modi government accusing it of reducing India to a strategic ally of the United States, which only raised its voice in defense of the American interests.

The CM said that before and after independence, India had always supported Palestine and its demand to be recognized as a nation. “We had not recognized Israel as a nation, and were not even allowed to travel to that place,” he pointed out. This position changed during the tenure of PV Narasimha Rao as Prime Minister and was a “submission to the pressure of the world powers”.
“Little by little, our government began to adopt a posture in favor of the world powers, and now the BJP is adopting that posture with energy and determination”, accused Vijayan.
