Holashtak is celebrated eight days before Holi, which starts every year from the Ashtami date of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month. This time Holashtak has started from 17th March which will end on 24th March. It is important to keep some things in mind during the days of Holashtak, so today through this article we are telling you what to do and what not to do during the days of Holashtak.
What to do and what not to do during the days of Holashtak-
It is considered beneficial to do puja and penance during the eight days of Holashtak, hence worship Lord Vishnu and all the gods and goddesses during the eight days of Holashtak. During this time, help the poor and needy and treat the children of the family well and give them love. During the days of Holashtak, offer Abir Gulal to Lord Shri Ram and Krishna and also recite Shri Sukta, doing this will keep your mind calm.
Worship Shiva daily during the eight days of Holashtak, after this chant Mahamrityunjaya Mantra. By doing this, the obstacles in life are eliminated. During this period, auspicious functions like marriage, tonsure, engagement and house warming are not done. During this period, one should avoid purchasing houses, land and vehicles. New work or business should not be started during this period.
