Kaiserganj: Girl raped and killed, culprit sentenced to death

Kaiserganj: A court here on Monday sentenced a youth guilty of raping and killing a four-and-a-half-year-old girl to death and also imposed a fine of Rs 1,10,000 on him. Government advocate Sant Pratap Singh said on Monday that 22-year-old Rajesh alias Lala, a resident of a village under Kaiserganj police station, used to visit another house in his village. Singh said that the four-and-a-half-year-old girl living there also often went to Rajesh’s house to play. He said that on February 21, 2024, the girl suddenly disappeared from home and after searching, the girl’s body was recovered from a sugarcane field near the village.

Singh said that the police had arrested Rajesh alias Lala on the basis of suspicion after the incident. In the investigation, Rajesh alias Lala was found guilty of rape and murder. Rajesh’s brother Kallu had helped Rajesh in committing the crime. Kallu is still absconding and the police is searching for him. The government prosecutor said that Special Judge (POCSO Court) Deepakant Mani on Monday sentenced the convict Rajesh alias Lala to death along with imposing a fine of Rs 1 lakh 10 thousand on him. The court has ordered to give the entire amount of the fine to the victim’s mother.
