Junior clerk of Deogarh College in Vigilance net for taking bribe

Deogarh: Tightening the noose around the neck of corrupt Government officials Odisha Vigilance on Friday trapped the junior clerk of the Deogarh College of Odisha while she was taking bribe.

The accused has been identified as Manjula Pradhan.

As per reports, today a short while ago the said junior clerk of Deogarh College was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while she was demanding and taking bribe of Rs.10, 000 from a former student of the college (Complainant).

Reportedly, she was taking the bribed in order to facilitate for issuance of fresh original + 2 certificates in place of the damaged original certificates of the complainant and another former student of the said college.

The entire bribe money of Rs.10,000 has been recovered from the possession of accused and seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at 2 locations of the accused from Disproportionate Assets (DA) angle.

In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance P.S. Case No.03 dtd.13-02-25, U/s.7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered.

Investigation of the case is in progress against the accused.
