JSW Energy arm commissions wind power plant in Tamil Nadu
Business: JSW Energy on Sunday announced that its subsidiary JSW Renew Energy Two Ltd has successfully commissioned a 300 MW wind farm at Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu. The wind power project connected to the ISTS (Inter-State Transmission System) has been awarded by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in Tranche X, the company said in a statement. According to the company, this is the first greenfield wind farm it has commissioned for SECI. The company said the newly launched wind farm project will contribute significantly to its renewable energy portfolio and support its vision of a green and sustainable future. An additional 150 MW wind power capacity is also being completed under SECI Tranche X at Darapuram in Tamil Nadu, of which 138 MW has already been commissioned.
According to this, the current total installed capacity is 7,726 MW and the capacity under construction is 2,114 MW. The commencement of operations is planned by the end of the 2025 financial year. The current installed wind power capacity of this company is 2152 MW. Sharad Mahendra, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JSW Energy, said in a statement that this achievement takes the company closer to the target of 10 GW installed capacity by FY 2025. In addition, we have a strong pipeline of renewable projects and we are on track to achieve our 20 GW target by 2030. JSW Energy has a total power generation capacity of 18.2 GW, which includes wind, solar, hydro and thermal power plants.
