JKTJAC demands release of midday meal dues

The monthly meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) was held here today under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma and District President Udhampur Lekh Raj Parihar.
Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma demanded immediate release of more than one year’s dues of mid-day meal, which teachers have managed in schools from their own pockets. He said that they have been raising this issue through media for a long time but apart from releasing the arrears of 3 to 4 months nothing has been done to resolve the issue and still for the year 2022-23 and 2023 Dues are due for -24.
He said, “Teachers are facing a lot of problems in managing the mid-day meal from their own pockets and if their dues are not released immediately they will be forced to close it down and if poor students suffer If so, the concerned officers will be responsible for it.” Said.
Vinod Sharma also raised several other genuine and burning issues of the teaching community and appealed to the authorities to resolve it amicably for the welfare of thousands of teachers of UT.
He called for clear instructions from the administrative department regarding comprehensive transfer policy in favor of teachers appointed under RET scheme, converting the posts of head teachers into non-plan posts of Master, providing permission to teachers and masters to enhance their qualifications. They also demanded issuance of regularization orders of RETs who have completed 5 years of service period, upgradation of teachers’ grade at par with their counterparts in other UTs, filling up of vacant posts of ZEOs, release of DPC list of teachers for Master, disposal of of. GP Fund (Refundable and Non-Refundable) matters, etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Lekh Raj Parihar demanded release of more than two years of arrears (time barred) of teachers and masters as they are suffering badly.
Sham Sharma, Ashok Seth, Ravinder Singh Rathore, Bhushan Khajuria, Shamsher Singh, Jagdish Chander Sharma, Suresh Sharma, Sandeep and others also addressed on the occasion.
