Jitendra Kumar, Director General of Forests planted Mahua saplings in Nandanvan Jungle Safari

Raipur. Jitendra Kumar, Director General of Forests and Special Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Government of India, who came to Chhattisgarh on a two-day visit, planted a Mahua sapling in Nandanvan Jungle Safari located in Sector-39 of Nava Raipur today under the Chhattisgarh Government’s tree plantation campaign Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan.

He also observed the painting exhibition displayed by school students and forest department employees on the subject of elephant-human conflict and appreciated them. After observing the painting exhibition, Jitendra Kumar also rewarded the winning participants as an encouragement. On this occasion, MLA of Abhanpur Assembly constituency Indra Kumar Sahu and Central officials of Forest and Climate Change Government of India Sushil Kumar Awasthi Additional Director General, Subhash Chandra Chief Executive Officer (CAMPA), Ramesh Kumar Pandey Inspector General of Forests and Director (Project Tiger and Elephant), Sanjay Kumar Shukla Member Secretary (Central Zoo Authority), Rajesh S. Inspector General of Forests, Dr. Dheeraj Mittal Assistant Inspector General of Forests (Project Tiger and Elephant) also planted saplings of various species in the Jungle Safari. Sudhir Kumar Agarwal (Chief Forest Conservator), Kaushalendra Kumar, Sanjita Gupta, Sunil Kumar Mishra, Arun Kumar Pandey, Anoop Kumar Vishwas, Prem Kumar, Vishwesh Kumar Jha from Forest and Climate Change Department, Government of Chhattisgarh were also present at the venue and they also participated in the “One Tree in the Name of Mother” campaign and planted saplings.
