Jharkhand: Five Maoists arrested
Chatra: Five Maoists were arrested in Chatra district of Jharkhand, police said on Sunday.
Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan said that a Commandant Subzonal was also among the five people present at the Samiti Tritiya Sammelan of the Sindhi group arrested from Tandwa Police Commissionerate area on Saturday night.
The “Commandant” has been identified as Adesh Kumar Ganjhu alias “Prabhakar Ji”, who was wanted in various cases of instigating fire in the mining area of Tandwa and extortion, he said.
The other four were identified as Upendra Kumar Ganjhu alias Bhola, Laldev Kumar Ganjhu, Pintu Kumar Ganjhu and Rajesh Kumar Ganjhu.
They also confiscated weapons and war material. The SP said that the recovered items included a rifle, two pistols, 14 cartridges, a knife and leaflets of the organisation.
