Jharkhand: 3 coaches of goods train derail, services affected
Jharkhand: Three coaches of a goods train derailed at the Tatanagar shipyard in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district early Tuesday, affecting railway services, officials said. The incident occurred at 3.17 am, blocking the movement of trains on the up and down routes of the Tata-Chakradharpur section in the Chakradharpur division of the South Eastern Railway (SER), he said. Area railway manager Abhishek Singhal said there were no casualties in the incident. A dozen long-distance trains were stopped at various stations over a period of a few hours due to the incident, he said. The affected trains include Pune-Howrah Azad Hind Express, Mumbai-Howrah Mail, Gorakhpur-Shalimar Weekly Express, New Delhi-Puri Express, South Bihar Express and Gitanjali Express. Singhal said that the movement of trains on the ascending route resumed at 6.30 am. m., while the descending line at 9.30 am is m. Chakradharpur-Tata passenger train and Tata-Kharagpur passenger train were canceled that day.
