Jhanduta has the potential to become the Golden Gate of Himachal: Jeetram Katwal
Tapovan. BJP MLA from Jhanduta assembly constituency of Bilaspur district, Jeetram Katwal, presented his vision by participating in the discussion under Rule 130 on the development of tourism in the House. He said that Jhanduta is surrounded by Gobind Sagar Lake on 3 sides. Many tourist activities can take place in the 98 kilometer long lake. Necessary changes are necessary in the tourism policy in the state. The government will also have to take initiative and ensure people’s participation in tourism.
Jeetram Katwal said that the identity of Himachal is that of a fruit state. There is some specialty in every field. With the help of these qualities, the entire state can be developed from tourism point of view. Lakhs of tourists go to Kerala to see backwaters. House boats and shikaras can also be used in Gobind Sagar Lake in Jhanduta.
Baba Balak Nath Temple is situated in the area and the famous Shaktipeeth Nayanadevi Temple is situated on the other side of the lake. Due to the construction of Kiratpur-Nerchowk four lane, the distance has reduced considerably.
Bagchhal bridge is ready. Due to this, the distance from Jhanduta to Kiratpur has remained only 20 kilometers. The distance between Kangra and Hamirpur has reduced by 42 kilometers. Due to these qualities, this area can be made the Golden Gate of Himachal along with making it Kullu-Manali of Lower Himachal.
Jeetram Katwal said that instead of copying the tourism policy of other states or imposing ready-made policies, the government should make an effective tourism policy considering the geographical and other conditions of the state. This will also solve the problem of unemployment to a great extent.
