Japan’s ambassador ate Kachori and Jalebi in Varanasi, said something like this in praise,
Japanese Ambassador to India Hiroshi Suzuki enjoyed popular street food in Varanasi and shared glimpses of his gastronomic adventure on social media on December 30. Suzuki tasted Kachori with vegetables and then also enjoyed Jalebi on the streets of Varanasi. He shared two clips on social media platform X. While posting the video, Hiroshi wrote in the caption, “Enjoying street food in Varanasi.” After tasting the kachori and vegetable, he said happily, “Very good.” After eating some jalebi, he too had a similar reaction. This is not his first visit to Varanasi. He had also visited the city earlier this year in May and tasted many dishes like Gol Gappa, Baati Chokha and Banarasi Thali. Hiroshi Suzuki visited India last year and has become a social media sensation due to his love for Indian food. Earlier this year, she visited New Delhi’s popular Sarojini Nagar Market. He not only did shopping but also enjoyed Aloo Tikki in the market. In June 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared one of Hiroshi Suzuki’s food videos on Instagram and wrote: “This is a competition you won’t mind losing, Mr. Ambassador. Nice to see you enjoying the culinary diversity of India and presenting it in such an innovative way.”
