JAMMU: Anjuman-e-Imamia took out a peaceful procession.

Jammu: Anjuman-e-Imamia, Jammu, organized a peaceful procession today to observe International Al-Quds Day. The peaceful and dignified procession, organized by Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu to mark Quds Day, witnessed tremendous unity and participation from members of both the Shia and Sunni communities. The event conveyed a strong message of brotherhood, solidarity, and collective concern for the suffering people of Palestine. Syed Amanat Ali Shah, President of Anjuman-e-Imamia, stated that this serves as a call for justice, peace, and the protection of holy Islamic sites in Jerusalem—particularly the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is the first Qibla of Muslims and one of the most sacred places in Islam. In his address, he cited a verse from the Holy Quran: “And what is the matter with you that you do not fight in the way of Allah and for the oppressed among men, women, and children…” (Quran 4:75). He reminded the gathering that we must stand up for the path of Allah.
Senior journalist Sohail Kazmi also addressed the media, stating that “we have gathered here to pay tribute to the martyrs of Gaza; this rally is held in commemoration of Al-Quds Day, as this day serves as an occasion to demonstrate solidarity with the Palestinians and all oppressed people.” The procession commenced following congregational prayers and proceeded peacefully through the main thoroughfares, with participants maintaining discipline and unity throughout. Volunteers ensured proper arrangements and smooth movement during the entire event. In his address, Imam Jumma Maulana Syed Ali Badshah Naqvi emphasized the spiritual and humanitarian significance of Quds Day, which is observed annually on the last Friday of Ramadan. He reminded the participants that supporting the oppressed is a fundamental tenet of Islam. Ladakh’s religious scholar, Sheikh Mohammadi, also recalled the message of Ruhollah Khomeini, who initiated the observance of Quds Day; he stated: “Quds Day is not merely a day for Palestine, but it is a day for Islam and a day for the oppressed people standing against arrogant powers.”
