Jalandhar: Three people injured in a clash between two car drivers on a flyover.

Jalandhar: A tense situation erupted on the JCT Mill flyover on Thursday afternoon when a minor traffic dispute between two car drivers escalated into a violent clash, leaving three people injured. The argument reportedly escalated into a physical altercation within minutes, causing traffic jams and panicking pedestrians on the flyover. According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when one car allegedly attempted to overtake another on the flyover, which was objected to by the driver behind it. This disagreement led to both drivers stopping their cars on the side of the road, where the argument escalated. It is alleged that during the confrontation, one group attacked the other with bricks and iron rods, injuring them. Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene, brought the situation under control, and transported the injured to Phagwara Civil Hospital for treatment.
However, the tension did not subside. At the hospital, members of both parties reportedly clashed again, leading to another scuffle that caused panic among patients and staff. Sources at the hospital claimed that during attempts to reach a compromise between the two parties, one party allegedly demanded ₹30,000 as a settlement, which the other party refused to pay. This disagreement reportedly led to renewed violence on the hospital campus. During the chaos, an injured person was allegedly pulled from his hospital bed. The tearing of clothes was captured on video and later went viral on social media. Police stated that statements from both parties were being recorded and the matter was being investigated. They stated that appropriate legal action would be taken after examining all the facts, medical reports, and available video evidence. Police appealed to the public to maintain peace and resolve disputes through legal means, emphasizing that violence, especially in public places and hospitals, would not be tolerated.
