Jalandhar: The accused in the petrol pump shooting incident has been arrested after an encounter.

Jalandhar: Rural police have arrested one of the accused shooters in the Kishanpur petrol pump firing incident that occurred in December 2025. The accused was apprehended after an encounter. The accused has been identified as Lovepreet Singh of Bhulath. Police also recovered a pistol and a motorcycle from him. The firing incident took place on December 19, when some youths in a car opened fire on another group at a petrol pump. According to reports, 10 to 12 rounds were fired. Police said the incident stemmed from a dispute during student union elections at a private college in Adampur.
Police today arrested the second main shooter involved in the case after an encounter in Adampur. Based on specific intelligence, a police team was conducting a search operation in the area near Jagrawan Pind, close to Alawalpur. During the search, the suspect was intercepted. The accused opened fire on the police party. In self-defense, the police retaliated. During the exchange of fire, the accused sustained a gunshot wound to his right hand. The injured Lovepreet has been admitted to a hospital and is undergoing treatment. A .30 bore pistol, three cartridges, two empty shells, and a motorcycle were recovered from him.
