Jalandhar: One killed in car-Thar collision

Jalandhar: One person was killed and another seriously injured in a road accident on the Amritsar GT Road near Dhilwan in Kapurthala district. The incident occurred late last evening near Hambowal village, where a Swift car and a Thar vehicle collided head-on. The impact of the collision was so severe that both vehicles were severely damaged. Subhanpur police arrived at the scene and began an investigation. The deceased’s body was taken into custody and placed in the mortuary at Kapurthala Civil Hospital.
Dr. Chirag Gupta, posted in the emergency ward of Kapurthala Civil Hospital, stated that Tajinder Singh, a resident of RCF, was brought to the hospital. He was traveling in the car and was seriously injured. After first aid, he was referred to a higher medical center due to his critical condition. According to people accompanying the injured, the deceased has been identified as Mandeep Singh, a resident of Batala, who was traveling in the Thar vehicle. The police have deposited the body in the Civil Hospital mortuary for a postmortem. Police officials said further investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident.
