Jalandhar: Multi-arm 3D robotic surgery launched at Fortis.

Jalandhar: Fortis Hospital, Jalandhar, has launched a highly advanced 3D, HD vision robotic surgery service – SSI Mantra 3. Aimed at providing patients with precise, minimally invasive surgical procedures, the SSI Mantra 3 is considered a next-generation, multi-arm, modular robotic surgery system that empowers surgeons to perform complex procedures with enhanced precision, stability, and visual clarity. It is designed to support a wide range of surgical specialties – including general surgery, oncology, neurology, cardiology, ENT, urology, gynecology, and head and neck oncology.
Speaking at the launch of this service, Dr. Harmeet Paul Singh, Director (General, Laparoscopic, GI and Bariatric Surgery) at Fortis Hospital, said: “Patients undergoing robot-assisted surgery benefit from less pain, reduced blood loss, minimal scarring, a lower risk of infection, and faster recovery, allowing them to return to their daily activities sooner. Surgeons also benefit from improved ergonomics and enhanced visualization during procedures.” Dr. Arun Kumar Sharma, Consultant (Surgical Oncology), added: “The enhanced precision, dexterity, and visualization offered by the new system are crucial for complete tumor removal while preserving surrounding healthy tissue.”
