Jalandhar: A free medical camp was organized at Urban Estate, Phagwara, on the death anniversary of Sudesh Tandon, witnessing a large turnout of local residents. More than 140 patients benefited from the camp, where free thyroid tests, uric acid tests, and Bone Mineral Density (BMD) tests were conducted. This camp has been continuously organized for the past 23 years by Dr. Anil Tandon in memory of his mother, Sudesh Tandon, a former municipal councilor of Nakodar. This initiative has become a regular annual endeavor aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and raising awareness about common lifestyle-related diseases. During the camp, Dr. Kanav Tandon, MS (Orthopedics), conducted free medical check-ups and guided patients on the prevention and management of bone and joint-related ailments.
Dr. Anil Tandon, MD, provided free consultations to diabetic and thyroid patients, emphasizing the importance of regular medication, timely diagnostic tests, and a balanced diet for effective long-term management of these conditions. Ayushi Tandon, the organizer of the camp, stated that this initiative will continue to be held annually in memory of Mrs. Sudesh Tandon, reiterating the family’s commitment to community health and service. All medical tests were conducted under the supervision of former SMO Dr. Meenu Tandon, MD, and Dr. Varsha Tandon, ensuring proper medical oversight and quality care. In addition to diagnostic services and consultations, free medicines were also distributed to all patients attending the camp, making this initiative a comprehensive healthcare support program for the local community.
