Jalandhar: Minor boy attacked, robbed, one attacker arrested

Jalandhar: Tensions erupted in Phagwara’s densely populated Bhullarai village on Tuesday when a minor boy was attacked and robbed by three men on a motorcycle. The attackers, armed with sharp weapons, attacked the boy and reportedly snatched his iPhone and motorcycle before fleeing. Before the three could escape, the village erupted in chaos as residents raised an alarm. Villagers overpowered one suspect, who was later beaten by a mob and handed over to the Phagwara police, half-naked. The injured minor was taken to a hospital where government doctors are treating him. Eyewitnesses said the attackers used a sharp axe to injure the boy before snatching his belongings. Two of the attackers fled with the stolen goods, while the third was apprehended. Residents expressed deep concern over the brazenness of the crime, stating that such daylight robberies in the village clearly demonstrate that villagers are no longer safe from thieves and robbers. Villagers have urged the police to ensure the safety of people living in nearby villages and to arrest the remaining two accused involved in the attack. Police have confiscated the motorcycle of the arrested accused.
