Jalandhar: Man and his daughter died in accident, 2 injured

Jalandhar: A vehicle hit a bike near Village Tashpur in Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala today, killing a man and his daughter. The deceased’s wife and another daughter were injured. The injured were admitted to Civil Hospital Sultanpur Lodhi by the sevadars of MP Balbir Singh Seechewal. The hospital doctor declared the bike driver dead.
Investigating officer Major Singh said that seeing the condition of the injured, they were referred from Kapurthala Civil Hospital to Medical College. However, 7-year-old girl Kohinoor died. The injured have been identified as Sandeep Singh’s wife Jagandeep Kaur and his second daughter Harleen. According to his relative Mandeep Kaur, Sandeep was going to his in-laws’ house on a bike with his wife Jagandeep Kaur and two daughters. When he reached near village Tashpur on Sultanpur Lodhi-Lohia Khas road, a speeding vehicle hit him, leaving all of them seriously injured. The driver fled from the spot after the accident.
