Jalandhar: Grant of Rs 1.60 crore released to 32 unanimously elected Panchayats

Jalandhar: In a major boost to rural development, 32 panchayats of Chabbewal constituency that were elected unanimously have been granted a total financial assistance of Rs 1.60 crore by the state government. Each panchayat has received Rs 5 lakh as an incentive for promoting unity and consensus in the democratic process.

Distributing the sanction letters to the panchayats, Chabbewal MLA Dr Ishank Kumar congratulated the villages for setting an example of harmony and cooperation. “Our 32 villages in Chabbewal have set a remarkable example of unity and brotherhood by electing their panchayats unanimously. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to them for this achievement,” he said.

The amount of Rs 5 lakh has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of each panchayat. The funds will be utilised for development works based on the specific needs and priorities of the respective villages. The initiative aims to strengthen basic infrastructure and improve civic amenities at the grassroots level.

Dr Ishank Kumar expressed confidence that the grant would significantly support the panchayats in carrying out development projects effectively. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the benefits of development reach every village in the constituency.

On the occasion, sarpanches and panches from the beneficiary villages thanked the MLA on behalf of the residents, stating that the financial assistance would help them undertake essential development works as per local requirements. They added that the recognition has further motivated them to remain united and work collectively for the progress of their villages.

Several prominent citizens and community members were also present at the event. All attendees appreciated the initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to working together for the holistic development of the villages in Chabbewal.
