Jalandhar: CT Group celebrated Teej festival

Jalandhar: CT Group of Institutions organised a vibrant and joyous Teej celebration at Shahpur Campus, with students, staff, faculty members and officials dedicating a day to glorify women and celebrate their important role in society and family. Participants took part in modelling, dancing and singing, creating an atmosphere of laughter and festivity. The celebrations included food and fun stalls, which added to the festive spirit and provided a delightful meal to the attendees. The event was attended by AAP leader Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, CT Group Co-Chairman Parminder Kaur, Joint Managing Director Tanika Channi and all women staff and students.
DAV alumnus inspires new students
DAV University alumnus Hannu Gandhi shared his inspiring journey with new students on the concluding day of Diksharambh – Induction Programme. Interacting with the students, he discussed how he secured the fifth rank at the all-India level in the Assistant Labour Commissioner’s examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). He was a student of BSc (Hons) in Chemistry in 2014. President Awardee and UGC JRF Fellow Hannu also participated in a Q&A session with the students and imparted valuable inputs. IAS mentor Ahsanul Haque equipped the students with strategies to crack the prestigious Civil Services Examination. Taranjot Singh, a PhD scholar invited by the UK Atomic Energy Authority, emphasised the importance of social service and cultural activities. Deputy Director (Sports) Dr Yashbir Singh underlined the importance of physical and mental health, while Amanvir Kaur and Harsimran Kaur shared their experiences, enriching the induction programme. Roller Skating Championship Students of Innocent Hearts, Green Model Town and Loharan have won the 24th Roller Skating Championship. The championship was held at Police DAV School last week. Hargun Hundal, Sargun Mehmi, Harnaaz Kaur and Karman Kaur of Green Model Town won gold medals in the championship, while Moksh and Tilak Salgotra of Loharan won silver medals. Hargun Hundal won two gold medals in 500m and 1,000m. Hargun has already received the National Medal of Honour award by District Roller Skating Association, Jalandhar in Chennai in December 2023. Karman Kaur won gold medal in Race-1 One Lap Inline, Race-2 Two Lap Inline in District Roller Skating Championship 2024 and qualified for the state level competition to be held on November 24. Karman will represent Jalandhar district.

University results

Kanya Mahavidyalaya announced that its students have achieved excellent results and secured top positions in several subjects. Damanpreet has secured first position in BSc Medical Semester II with 9 CGPA, Bani has secured first position in BSc Computer Science Semester II with 7.85 CGPA, Jaspreet Kaur has secured first position in BSc Non Medical Semester II with 8.48 CGPA and Samriti has secured first position in BSc Non Medical Semester IV with 81 percent marks. All these brilliant students were felicitated by Principal Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi for their achievement.

Havan Yagna was performed

Havan Yagna was performed at Hans Raj Mahila Mahavidyalaya to seek God’s blessings for PG students. Students, faculty members and staff prayed under the guidance of Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen. The Yagna was conducted by Dr. Mamta and Dr. Meenu Talwar.
