Jalandhar: Committee stresses on promoting Hindi as official language

Jalandhar: A meeting of the Nagar Official Language Implementation Committee was held at Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala on Monday. The meeting was chaired by SS Mishra, General Manager, RCF, Kapurthala. The meeting was attended by key officials of 18 Central Government offices, banks, Kendriya Vidyalayas and other organisations based in Kapurthala. The meeting began with a warm welcome to Shri Bhupeshwar Atri, Chief Official Language Officer, RCF, who greeted the members of the committee. During the meeting, special attention was given to promoting the use and propagation of official language in government work. The difficulties faced in this regard were discussed and suggestions were made for their resolution under the guidance of the General Manager.

A presentation was made on the initiatives taken by all member offices to promote official language. Another presentation highlighted the use of Google tool for digital signature in Hindi on official letters and typing in Hindi. It was recommended that Hindi magazines published by all member offices be exchanged among themselves. In addition, all the attendees were presented with the Rajbhasha Magazine “Arunoday” published by RCF. In his address, General Manager Mishra emphasized that the main objective of the Committee is to promote the progressive use of the official language in the Central Government offices and to resolve any difficulties arising in the implementation of the Official Language Policy. He further said that the Committee has been constituted to fulfill the goals mentioned in the annual program issued by the Department of Official Language, Government of India. Its main objective is to promote the propagation and development of Hindi as the official language and to encourage its use in various government works.
