Jalandhar: Children’s Book ‘Ambi Da Boota’ Launched to Inspire Young Minds

Jalandhar: A magnificent celebration of children’s literature unfolded in Mahipur when the local unit of the Progressive Writers Association, in collaboration with the Department of Punjabi at Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, organized a special event for the launch of Ambi Da Boota—a book authored by the renowned children’s writer, Baljinder Mann. The event brought together prominent figures from the literary world, educators, artists, and students, transforming the occasion into a meaningful tribute to language, culture, and creativity.
The book was formally released by MLA Dr. Ishanak Kumar, who lauded Baljinder Mann’s lifelong dedication to nurturing the tender minds of children through the medium of literature. Praising his contributions, he remarked, “Baljinder Mann has devoted the prime years of his life to children’s literature, inspiring young readers to embrace their language and values ​​through his meaningful stories.” He further emphasized that Mann’s consistent work over several decades has brought immense pride to the literary landscape of this region.
Speaking on the occasion, Baljinder Mann underscored the importance of introducing children to quality literature at an early age. He stated, “If we connect our children with books and periodicals rooted in children’s literature, we can help shape their personalities into strong, balanced, and thoughtful individuals.” Reflecting on his journey and purpose as a writer, he added, “Writing for children is not merely about telling stories; rather, it is a responsibility to guide their tender minds with imagination, values, and cultural consciousness.”
The event was presided over by the distinguished writer and journalist S. Ashok Bhaura, who was joined by several eminent educationists and scholars. The speakers emphasized that writing for children is an exceptionally challenging art form, requiring not only creativity but also a profound understanding of child psychology—a quality that Baljinder Mann has consistently demonstrated in his work. Sharing his thoughts on the book, renowned literary critic Dr. J.B.
