Jalandhar: Blood Donation Camp

Jalandhar: The NSS unit of DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with KVUES and Blood Bank Amritsar. Enthusiastic students donated close to 100 units of blood. The aim of the camp was to raise awareness about voluntary blood donation and promote social responsibility among the youth. Acting Principal Dr Sudhir Sharma praised the students and teachers for their dedication and emphasised that blood donation saves lives and helps maintain a steady supply for medical emergencies. NSS Coordinator Dr Ashok Kumar appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and encouraged continued participation in such initiatives. The event was attended by dignitaries including Ravi Mahajan (PRO KVUES), Dr Anum (Medical Officer) and lab technicians Suman, Pahul Preet Kaur, Munish Kumar and Ranjana. Respected faculty members Dr Kaushik, Dr Rajni Sharma, Dr Neeru Sharma and Dr Aman Maini were also present. The camp concluded on a positive note, reinforcing DAVUET’s commitment to social welfare and inspiring more students to contribute to humanitarian efforts.

Maths Activity

Eklavya School celebrated Maths Activity to help students appreciate the subject and build confidence in it. Maths Activity is designed to develop critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills. Students of Class 2 and Class 3 participated in various activities such as Addition and Subtraction Bingo, Recognition of Shapes, Action Addition and Subtraction, Maths Twister and Shape Scavenger. JK Gupta, Chairman, Eklavya School said that Mathematics becomes fun when it is interactive, adding that these games introduce a new dimension to learning, giving students a chance to understand mathematical concepts in a playful way. Seema Handa, Director, Eklavya School said that these activities encouraged students to expand beyond the information they acquire in class.

Expert Talks Held
APJ Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Rama Mandi organised an enriching and insightful expert talk for its BTech, BCA and MCA students. The session was organised by the Engineering Club. The resource person for the session was Mukesh Kumar, Principal Software Engineer, Microsoft India (R&D) Pvt Ltd. With his vast experience in the technology sector, Kumar shared valuable insights on the critical skills required to secure placements in today’s competitive job market. Kumar discussed a wide range of topics, from skills sought by service-based and product-based companies to the nuances of interviews and assessments. He emphasised the importance of a balanced development of knowledge, attitudes, skills and habits (KASH), highlighting how these elements collectively shape a successful career. The session covered key aspects of placement preparation, including the types of technical and soft skills required and the best ways to perform well in interviews. Dr Rajesh Bagga encouraged all the students to remain committed to learning and keep honing their skills to stay ahead in the competitive world.

Retirement Party Organised

Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College Dr Jaspal Singh was formally bid farewell in a grand function organised at the college. The function was presided over by Prabhpal Singh Pannu, Member, Managing Committee. Principal Dr Jaspal Singh was honoured by Pannu and Principal Dr Suman Chopra by presenting a bouquet and a memento. Staff Secretary Dr Rashpal Singh Sandhu gave information about the life and academic journey of Dr Jaspal Singh. He expressed his views on the hard work, dedication and commitment of Dr Jaspal Singh in giving the college a distinct identity in the field of education, sports, literary research and culture. Principal Dr Suman Chopra shared his views on the time spent with Dr Jaspal Singh. He said that Dr Jaspal Singh made tireless efforts to take the college to great heights due to his visionary thinking and talent. He wished Dr Jaspal Singh a healthy life and family happiness after retirement. Dr. Jaspal Singh started his service as Professor and Head of the Department of Sports and Physical Education at Lyallpur Khalsa College from 1998. During his 22 years of service, the college won the Guru Nanak Dev University General Championship Trophy 18 times, which is a record in itself. During the event, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh was given a letter of appreciation.

Farewell Ceremony for Class 12th

M R International School bid a fond farewell to its outgoing Class 12th (2025 batch) in a grand ceremony ‘Prasthan 2025’. The event was presided over by Chairman Dr. Sarv Mohan Tandon, Director Dr. Simmi Tandon, Director Principal Dr. Ashish and CEO Mohit Shinde. The event began with a sweet tribute to the management of the school, acknowledging their constant support and guidance.
