Jalandhar: Berry exposes government claims regarding the health revolution.

Jalandhar: Former MLA from Jalandhar Central constituency and District Congress President Rajinder Beri visited the gynecology ward of the Civil Hospital and criticized the Aam Aadmi Party government for neglecting cleanliness and patient care. Going live on Facebook, Beri said he was shocked to see the poor sanitation in the ward. He showed all the locked units in the washrooms, which appeared not to have been cleaned for weeks. In his Facebook live video, he also spoke to patients and their attendants, all of whom said they were unable to use the washrooms on the premises and had to go outside to relieve themselves. There was no furniture in the attendants’ lounge, and patients were seen lying on the floor on their sheets.
Beri said, “We appeal to the Punjab Health Minister, the Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar, and the Civil Surgeon to at least pay attention to cleanliness. The washroom doors need to have their latches fixed, broken fixtures need to be replaced, and cobwebs hanging from the ceilings need to be removed. If the government is spending crores of rupees on a health revolution, where is all that money going? The Civil Hospital administration also needs to answer this. I appeal to the Chief Minister to come and see the situation himself. You have traveled a lot in helicopters. Now, come down to earth and visit the Jalandhar Civil Hospital and see the condition of the patients. The situation has never been this bad before.”
