Jalandhar: A man who returned from Dubai died in a car accident.

Punjab: A man who had returned from Dubai and was traveling home to Shahkot from Amritsar Airport died in an accident on Lohian-Malsian Road in Jalandhar late Tuesday night. Deepak Sharma, a resident of Kotla Surajmal in Shahkot, died while returning home in his car. Two of his friends were injured, one of them seriously. Deepak, who worked as a driver in Dubai, had come to visit his family in Jalandhar.
He and his two friends, Vansh Arora and Sahil Arora, were in a car when the speeding vehicle allegedly collided with another car near the Government Senior Secondary School in Nihalwal. The out-of-control vehicle was then reportedly hit by a truck, after which it crashed into a tree. The accident was so severe that passersby heard the loud crash.
Deepak died on the spot, while his friend Vansh sustained serious injuries. Sahil Arora was also injured. Deepak, who had arrived at Amritsar Airport on Tuesday evening, was originally scheduled to travel to Jalandhar by bus. But when he informed his friends about his arrival, they came forward to pick him up. Deepak was driving the car when the accident occurred. Station House Officer (SHO) of Lohian police station, Bhim Singh, said police have initiated action under Section 174 of the CrPC.
