Jalandhar: 44-year-old businessman admitted to hospital after mysterious bullet injury

Jalandhar: A local businessman named Manav Khurana, 44, was shot under mysterious circumstances at his home in Jawahar Nagar. The incident took place on Saturday afternoon, leaving the business community in shock and raising questions about the nature of the injury. Manav Khurana, who runs a cosmetic shop in the Rannack market, was at home at the time of the incident. The bullet hit him in the head, which required immediate treatment. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where he has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Detailed information about the incident is still not clear.

The police have suggested that initial investigation suggests that the bullet accidentally fired from Khurana’s licensed gun. However, alternate theories have emerged, with some unconfirmed reports suggesting that he may have shot himself after a family dispute and personal trouble. Jalandhar Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP-2) Aditya confirmed that the hospital has informed the police about Khurana’s condition. The ADCP said, “Initial investigation has revealed an accidental firing, but we are waiting for a detailed report of the situation. It seems that the victim’s own licensed weapon was used in the incident.” The ADCP said that the investigation will proceed once Khurana’s condition stabilizes and he gives his statement. Aditya said, “Based on his testimony, we will decide the further course of action and decide if any charges need to be filed in this regard or not.”
