Jalandhar: 2 people arrested with 500 grams of heroin and illegal pistol
Jalandhar: During a special drive launched under the leadership of Kapurthala SSP Gaurav Tura to eradicate drug menace in the region, police have arrested two persons found carrying narcotics and illegal weapons. Giving information, sources in the police department said that police intercepted a suspicious bike at a checkpost. On checking the two-wheeler, 500 grams of heroin was recovered from it. Police detained two bike-borne men, identified as Navdeep Singh alias Joban and Jaskaran Singh alias Karan, residents of Faridwal under Makhu police station area of Ferozepur.
Two envelopes containing 500 grams of heroin (250 grams in each envelope) and a 7.65 mm country-made pistol and five live cartridges were recovered from the duo. These envelopes were examined under the supervision of DSP Sultanpur Lodhi sub-division. A Splendor motorcycle (registration number Punjab 09 AA 5538) was also recovered from the two suspects. Both the suspects were arrested and a case was registered against them under the NDPS Act.
