Jalandhar: 2 people arrested with 167 grams of narcotics and 26,000 banned capsules

Jalandhar: Police arrested two individuals and recovered 167 grams of narcotic substances and 26,000 banned Pregabalin capsules from them. Police officials stated that a case has been registered against the accused and the car used in the crime has also been seized. According to police sources, while patrolling Ward No. 5 of Garhshankar, ASI Satnam Singh, in-charge of Police Outpost Samundra, arrested Sunil Kumar, a resident of Village Lal Mahi, Police Station Sahibganj, District Sahibganj, Jharkhand (currently residing in Ward No. 5 of Garhshankar), and Gursharan Singh alias Guri, a resident of Ward No. 7 near Truck Union, Garhshankar. Both were detained under suspicious circumstances.
Upon searching the two individuals, police seized 167 grams of narcotic substances. Further investigation led to the recovery of 26,000 banned Pregabalin capsules, packed in four cardboard boxes, from Sunil Kumar’s Ward No. 5 residence. The vehicle allegedly used to transport the contraband was also seized. Police have registered a case against both accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police officials said both accused are currently being interrogated.
