Jaipur: Special review meeting on problems related to tribal development and universities
Jaipur: Governor Shri Kalraj Mishra has called upon the District Red Cross branches of the state to do special work for organ donation, body donation and de-addiction along with blood donation camps. He has also emphasized on making Rajasthan TB free by making Nishchay Mitras by the Red Cross Society members under the TB Free India Campaign. Expressing the need to promote Red Cross activities in tribal areas, he said that more and more work should be done for education, health, employment, water conservation and environmental protection in the scheduled areas.
The Governor also emphasized on the District Collectors to participate in the development work being done by the universities of the state by adopting villages under University Social Responsibility. He said that a timely progress report should be given at the District Collector level on the work being done by the university by adopting villages. This will enable the villagers to get effective benefits of development schemes with their participation. He also emphasized on taking appropriate action at the District Collector level to resolve the land, building and other local problems of state-funded universities.
Mr Mishra was addressing a special review meeting of local issues related to Indian Red Cross Society, tribal area development and university held at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. All divisional commissioners of the state and district collectors of all 50 districts participated online in the meeting.
The Governor also emphasized on collective efforts for intensive tree plantation in the districts under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” during the rainy season. He also emphasized on Red Cross organizing blood donation camps in universities and private institutions, making ambulance services more effective in state and district branches and cooperating in increasing hospital, lab facilities in districts and providing food and medical equipment free of cost to the needy at minimum rates. He said that maximum efforts should be made to serve the suffering humanity.
The Governor directed the District Collectors to take immediate action for those District Red Cross branches which do not have building or plot. He also emphasized on making minimum five hundred life members of Red Cross Society in district branches, taking effective action by making proposals in CSR for anemia control, silicosis control and other requirements in districts. He also expressed the need to do special work in the districts for the eradication of this disease under the Leprosy Free India Campaign. He called for working together for the rehabilitation of patients along with leprosy eradication.
In the meeting, the District Collectors informed that apart from 33 districts in the state, Red Cross Society has been formed in 14 more districts. Action will be taken in this regard in the remaining 3 districts within a week. With this, now the formation of Red Cross branches will be ensured in all the districts of the state.
Principal Secretary of Higher Education Department Mr. Subir Kumar, Secretary of Tribal Development Department Mr. Jogaram, State Director of Health Mission Dr. Jitendra Soni also expressed their views in the meeting. In the meeting, Vice Chancellors of Universities, Divisional Commissioners of the State and all the District Collectors joined online and gave information on the related subjects in the meeting. In the beginning, Secretary to the Governor Mr. Gaurav Goyal gave detailed information on issues related to Red Cross, Tribal Development and Universities. Principal Special Officer to the Governor Mr. Govindram Jaiswal and other officials participated in the meeting.
