Jagadish Reddy: BRS will highlight Congress government’s failure to fulfill poll promises

Suryapet: Senior BRS leader and Suryapet MLA Gutkandla Jagadish Reddy on Friday said that as an opposition party, it is the responsibility of BRS to highlight the failure of the Congress government to implement its election promises.

In a statement to the media at his office here, Jagadish Reddy said that BRS has told the people that it is not possible to implement the election promises of Congress and its only objective is to get votes in the elections. These election promises are going to create big problems for the Congress government of the state. He qualified these six guarantees of Congress as 420 (stray) election promises.

It was alleged that Congress leaders were making irrelevant comments and that frustration had arisen due to the state government’s failure to implement election promises. Power cuts started in the state after Congress came to power in the recent elections. The Congress government did not implement even one of its six guarantees of providing free electricity up to 200 units to consumers. He told that electricity bills are being collected from customers at the rate of less than 200 units. He said the government people also threatened people that the electricity bill would double next month if the actual bill was not paid.

He said that the government may delay for some time in fulfilling the election promises, but no one can connect with the people for a long time. During the elections, the Congress leader made election promises written by some people with the belief that his party would not be able to reach the power to implement them.
