It was the husband who burnt the Anganwadi assistant alive, arrested

Korba. In Dumarmuda village of the district, a drunk man beat his wife and burnt her alive in the stove. The body of Anganwadi helper Brij Kunwar (45) was found in a half-burnt condition in the kitchen. Police have arrested the accused. The matter is of Bango police station area.

The relationship between Anganwadi assistant Brij Kunwar and her husband Krishna Tekam, resident of village Dumarmuda, was not good and there used to be fights often over some issue or the other. Both of them were also addicted to drinking alcohol. On Saturday, husband and wife drank Mahua liquor heavily. After this there was a dispute over some issue.

Katghora SDOP Pankaj Thakur told that the dispute escalated so much that Krishna brutally beat Brij Kunwar. After this he threw his wife into the burning kitchen stove, due to which she died. After the incident, he went to the forest of the village itself, so that people could be misled into thinking that he had died by falling into the stove while cooking.
