It is our responsibility to save the youth from drugs and use their energy in nation building: PM Modi

New Delhi: India is a country of youth. Youth are the future of the country. It is the responsibility of all of us to save them from drugs and use their energy in nation building. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this in his address on Sunday on the occasion of Ashwamedh Yagya organized by Gayatri Parivar’s Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya.
The Prime Minister said that initially I was hesitant in participating in this program during the election season, because the common people might find political meaning in it. But in the light of the purpose and spirit of the Yagya, I felt that it was our moral duty to participate in this program.
The Prime Minister said that every program organized by Gayatri Parivar for the betterment and progress of the society has been impressing me. The society can be benefited only by following the values and ideals established by the founders of the organization, Acharya Shri Ram Sharma and Devi Bhagwati. The role of Gayatri Parivar in preparing the youth of the country for nation building has been commendable. But the government and other institutions of the society will also have to play their role in this.
The Prime Minister said that his government has launched a campaign to free the youth of the country from drugs. So far, more than 11 crore youth have joined the India Drug Free Campaign. He said that his government has started many programs with the aim of channelizing the energy of the youth in nation building. The government has taken many steps to connect the youth with sports and science and technology.
Referring to the recently launched Chandrayaan, the Prime Minister said that the success of this mission has created a craze for science and technology among the youth. He said that the government has started many schemes for the youth to showcase their talent in sports and it is also showing positive results. Our youth are proving their talent in the world.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the role of the family in shaping the future of the youth. He said that the future of the youth of the country can be made happy only by respecting family values and ideals. PM Modi also congratulated the Gayatri family for organizing the program.
