Isha Talwar took inspiration from poetess Amrita Pritam for ‘Chamak’ role

Mumbai (IANS). Actress Isha Talwar says when she was creating her character in her mind for the upcoming webseries ‘Chamak’, the first person who came to her mind was writer and poetess Amrita Pritam.

In ‘Chamak’, Esha plays the role of a musician from a small town in Punjab. In research, he read the writer’s story. Isha says Amrita Pritam’s simplicity helped her create the outer structure of her character in the web series.

Esha says, “My character is a musician from a small town in Punjab. When I was creating it in my head, the first person who came to my mind was writer and poetess Amrita Pritam.”

She further added, “As I started reading about her and her work, I found a lot of similarities between them because Amrita ji and my character believe in unconditional love and both are passionate about it. Have the ability to talk very simply.

I was very careful not to make it a satire because my character has a very different storyline.”

Esha will play the lead role in her upcoming web series Chamak which will premiere on Sony LIV in August. The story of the web series is based on the glitz and glamor of the music industry of Punjab and depicts the journey of an artiste and his complicated relationship with fame. She will also be seen playing the musical instrument Dhol.

The series is directed by Rohit Jugraj Chauhan. Apart from this, she is also working on another web series titled Indian Police Force.
