Is your UAN freezed? Here’s how you can unfreeze UAN easily

The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched the Universal Account Number (UAN) driven Member Portal to provide a number of facilities to its members through a single window. The EPFO generates and allots the UAN, a 12-digit unique number, to every employee contributing to the EPF.

The UAN of the EPF member remains the same throughout his/her professional life. however, the member has to activate his/her registration to avail various facilities such as UAN card download, member passbook download, updation of KYC information, listing all his/her member ids to UAN, file and view transfer claim.

The EPFO, which has over 7.42 crore contributing UANs, always gives priority for the safety and security of each UAN. As a part of its safety measures it has reportedly freezed over 3.5 lakh UANs after finding suspicious activities in the UAN.

In case your UAN is also has been freezed, do not worry. The EPFO will unfreeze within 15 days after getting complaint from you. Till date, it has unfreezed over 35,000 UANs.

All what you need to do is to register your grievance at the official website of the EPF i Grievance Management System (EPFiGMS). Click here to directly visit the official website of epfigms.gov.in.

The EPFiGMS is a customised portal of EPFO with an aim to redress grievances for the services provided by EPFO. Grievances can be lodged at any place and will land in concerned office to which the grievances pertain. Grievances can be sent to Head office at New Delhi or to the field offices now 135 across the country.

The revamped EPFiGMS is available with several advanced features, most important being:

Grievance can be lodged by PF member, EPS Pensioner, Employer and Others
OTP verification
Online lodging of grievance/complaint based on UAN
UAN integrated with master data base of EPFO resulting in identification of EPF office for redress of grievance
Grievance can be lodged for multiple PF numbers available in UAN
PPO number validation/integration (for EPS pensioners) with centralised data base of EPFO

View current status of grievance
Facility to provide feedback on redress of grievance
