Iron and tin scrap worth lakhs seized, police action on illegal transportation

Raigarh. Taking action against illegal scrap transportation, Gharghoda police has seized a truck with 13 tons of scrap and arrested the driver. On the instructions of SP Divyang Patel, the police team led by station in-charge Ram Kinkar Yadav, on the basis of informer’s information, cordoned off the main road in front of the NTPC office and stopped a suspicious 14-wheeled red colored truck (number CG 13 Y 7336).

In the investigation, about 13 tons of iron-tin scrap illegally loaded in the truck was recovered, whose estimated value is ₹ 1.3 lakh. The driver Mojhid father Nihaluddin (age 35 years, resident of Kharsia Chowk, Ambikapur) could not present any valid documents regarding the scrap. After which the police registered a case against the accused under section 35 (1) BNS and 303 (2) BNS and arrested him. Head constable Parasmani Behera, constable Chandrashekhar Chandrakar and Luv Kishore Say played an important role in this action.
